Travel (verb)
If you “travel” somewhere, you go there, often as part of your holiday. The expression “to go travelling” is very common. Remember, “travel” is a verb.
“We went travelling around Asia, which was amazing!”
A trip (noun)
If you go on a “trip”, you travel somewhere, often for a short period of time. “Trip” is a noun and we often use it with an adjective or modifier: a short trip, a business trip, a school trip…
“We went on a short trip to the city, where I got loads of great photos.”
Journey (noun)
If you go on a “journey”, you travel from one place to another. We use “journey” to describe the experience of travelling, or to say how long it took.
“The journey through the jungle took over six days.”
Stressful
If something is “stressful”, it makes you feel worried or nervous.
“The return trip was stressful because the plane was delayed for over 6 hours.”
Exciting
If something is “exciting”, it makes you feel happy. Adjectives with –ing at the end describe something and say what it’s like: interesting, tiring, boring, exciting…
“The journey across the desert was exciting.”
Excited
If you’re “excited”, you’re feeling very happy. Adjectives with –ed at the end describe how you feel about something: interested, tired, bored, excited…
“I’m really excited about the trip next week.”
The experience of a lifetime
If something was “the experience of a lifetime”, it was an amazing thing you did, and an event that left a big impression on you.
“Visiting India and seeing all those incredible things was an experience of a lifetime!”

She went with a couple of friends last weekend.

On Sunday, she went to Valencia (in Spain) for the day.
